Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

This policy explains how Snowfall Games (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit the Portentum website (portentum.game) and the Portentum wiki (wiki.portentum.game) (the “Sites”). We keep data collection to a minimum, we do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

What we collect

Analytics, only if you accept. The Sites show a cookie banner. If you select “Accept”, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and records how the Sites are used: pages you view, time on the Sites, the site that referred you, approximate location and device/browser type (derived from your IP address by Google; we do not receive your raw IP), and a few interaction events such as clicking “Wishlist”, “Join the Discord”, or the press-kit download. This data is processed by Google. If you select “Decline”, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

Basic interaction counts. When you click a wishlist, Discord, or press-kit link, we also record the click to an internal team channel so we can gauge interest. These click records use a random identifier stored in your browser; they are not linked to your name, email, or any account. Anything you type into a form is separate, and is covered next.

Information you give us. The PAX page has two forms. Both are optional, and we receive nothing unless you choose to fill one in.

The email signup asks only for your email address, so we can tell you when Portentum launches. It goes to MailerLite, the service we use to send email, and is added to our Portentum and Snowfall mailing lists. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

The press swag form asks for your name, your outlet or publication if you have one, and a postal address (two address lines, city, region, postal code, and country) so we can mail you something. Submissions are posted to a private Discord channel that only our team can read. They are not saved to a database. We show a rough city and country worked out from your IP address next to each submission, so we can spot obviously fake batches of requests.

What we do not collect. The Sites have no accounts and no logins, and we never ask for payment details. Apart from the two forms above, we do not ask you for anything. Press-contact links simply open your own email app; we only ever see what you choose to send us.

Cookies and local storage

  • sf_analytics_consent — remembers whether you accepted or declined, so the banner only appears once. Essential to honoring your choice.
  • sf_session_id — a random identifier used only for the basic interaction counts described above.
  • sf_press_engaged — notes that you have viewed the press page, so it is counted once per visit.
  • Google Analytics cookies (for example _ga) — set only after you accept, and used by Google Analytics.

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics (Google LLC) — usage analytics, loaded only after you accept.
  • MailerLite — email delivery; receives the address you enter in the newsletter signup.
  • Discord — press swag submissions are delivered to a private channel there, so Discord handles the name and address you send us.
  • FreeIPAPI — turns an IP address into a rough city and country for the counts and submissions above.
  • Cloudflare — security and content delivery for the Sites.
  • Railway — hosting for the Sites.
  • Embedded and linked content: the homepage may embed the trailer from YouTube using the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. Links to Steam and Discord take you to those services, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

How long we keep things

Press swag submissions stay in the private Discord channel until we have shipped your swag, and we delete them once it is on its way. If something never ships, we delete it anyway within 90 days.

Your email address stays in MailerLite until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send.

Your choices and rights

You can decline analytics at any time from the banner. To change a previous choice, clear this site’s data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data. To make a request, email us at .

Children

The Sites are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
